This Privacy Policy explains how Checksum Works LLC (“Mastlens,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit mastlens.com, use our web and mobile applications, or otherwise interact with our products and services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
Mastlens provides documentation software for telecom tower installation companies. Much of the data in our platform is created by field crews and managed by the company that employs them. Where we process that data on behalf of a business customer, we act as a service provider / processor and the customer is the controller responsible for its own privacy practices.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account and contact information — name, work email, phone number, job title, company name, and the password or credentials used to access your account.
- Billing information — plan selection and billing contact details. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Content you submit — job-site photos and the structured checklist, project, and closeout data you create, including any captions, notes, or messages.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us, request a demo, fill out a form, or reach out to support.
Information collected automatically
- Photo metadata — when you capture or upload photos, we collect associated metadata such as GPS coordinates, date/time stamps, and device/EXIF information. This location and timestamp data is a core part of the documentation the Services produce.
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, app version, pages and features used, and diagnostic/crash logs.
- Approximate location — we may infer general location from your IP address for security and analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Services;
- process photos and generate checklists, reports, and downloadable closeout packages;
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- process subscriptions, billing, and renewals through our payment provider;
- respond to requests, provide customer support, and send service communications;
- monitor, prevent, detect, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues;
- analyze and improve the Services and develop new features; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not use customer-submitted job-site photos or content to train general-purpose AI models.
3. How We Share Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers (sub-processors)
We rely on a limited set of vendors to operate the Services. They may process personal information only on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting, storage, and database infrastructure (United States).
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Google Maps Platform — maps, geocoding, and place lookups for project addresses.
- Amazon SES — transactional email delivery (e.g., confirmations, invitations, notifications).
Your company and team
Mastlens is a multi-tenant business platform. If you use the Services through an employer or organization, that organization’s administrators can access, manage, and export the account and content associated with their workspace, and can control your access. Content you create is generally visible to authorized users within your organization.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mastlens, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
If Mastlens is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. On our marketing site we use Google Analytics to measure traffic; it runs only after you accept analytics cookies (Google Consent Mode), and you can decline. For details and your choices, see our Cookie Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When a customer’s subscription ends, we provide a period to export data and then delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention schedules and applicable law. Customer administrators can also delete content within the Services.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to appeal a denied request. We do not sell personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
To exercise a right, email privacy@mastlens.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. If your information is managed by a business customer (your employer), we may direct your request to that customer.
EU/UK/Swiss residents
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the legal bases of performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, your consent (where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and tenant isolation. See our Security page for details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
We operate primarily in the United States, and our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
The Services may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice as required by law.
