Mobile App Release Notes
What changed in each release, newest first.
Version 1.0.7September 2026
- Required certifications on your phone. Certifications now opens on a Required tab for admins and managers: one card per crew member showing every credential your company requires and where they stand on each one. The people who are short come first, so you are not scrolling an alphabet to find them.
- Each card spells out the dates — what has lapsed, what is expiring, and what was never on file at all. Tap a credential somebody holds to open the actual certificate; the ones they do not hold simply say “Missing”.
- Somebody excused from a credential shows as “Not tracked” with the reason underneath, so a grey row reads as a decision rather than a gap.
- All certificates is still there, one tap away and unchanged. Setting up which credentials are required, and excusing people from them, stays on the web app.
- A project’s crew certifications now flag anyone missing a required credential, not only ones whose certificates have lapsed, and name what each person is short of.
- A new “Initiated” project status, for a site that is set up but not yet being worked. It shows in yellow on the projects list, so a job waiting to start is no longer indistinguishable from one your crew is on today.
- Pick the status when you create the project. New Project now has a Status row, set to Initiated to begin with.
- Initiated joins the status buttons on Edit Project.
- Only admins and managers can change a project’s status — the same rule that already governs editing a project.
- The Projects tab now opens on Active instead of All, so completed and archived jobs stay out of the list you work from on site. Every other filter, All included, is one tap away — and a project you have just created as Initiated will be under Initiated rather than in that default view.
- Closeout packages and JHA packets now carry a one-line credit to Mastlens, since both routinely land with a GC or a carrier safety rep. A company admin can switch it off in the web app under Settings → Documents.
Version 1.0.6August 2026
- Certifications from outside Safety LMS now show in the app. CPR cards, OSHA cards and anything else your company has uploaded sit alongside the synced ones, with the same expiry marks. Uploading and approving stay on the web app.
- A new filter at the top of Certifications switches between All sources, Safety LMS and Other, so you can look at one feed at a time.
- Search your crew’s certifications by name, email address or certificate number — useful when you are standing at the gate trying to confirm one person is current.
- Marking a field complete is now a separate step from taking the photo. A field stays grey until you tap the circle, so “done” means somebody actually checked it. It works with no signal: the tap sticks immediately and syncs when you are back on, in the right order behind any photos still uploading.
- Turn the shutter sound and the camera haptics off. Two new switches under Settings → Capture, both on by default. The haptics switch covers the capture buzz and both zoom detents. The shutter sound is a request rather than a guarantee — iOS and some jurisdictions force it at the system level.
- Fix your name from the app. Tap the pencil beside it on Profile to change your first and last name; admins can correct anyone’s the same way, from that person’s page under More → Users. This one needs a signal — unlike photos and field sign-offs, a name change is not queued for later.
- Pinch-to-zoom in the camera actually works now. Any pinch used to shoot straight to maximum or minimum zoom, which made it useless for framing a shot. The zoom now follows your fingers — deliberately a little slower than the spread, so you can settle on the framing you want. The × you are on shows while you pinch, and releasing near 0.5×, 1× or 3× snaps to it, the same as the zoom dial.
Version 1.0.5August 2026
- Safety LMS certifications are live. The connection to Safety LMS/Comtrain now works end to end, so once your company is linked your certifications sync nightly and show up in the app.
- Your own certifications now live on your Profile, in a “My Certifications” section you can tap open — no need to go hunting through a company-wide list to check whether you are current before going up.
- The Certifications screen in More is now for admins and managers, since it lists the whole company. Everyone else reads their own on Profile.
- Tapping “View certificate” opens the scan inside the app, where you can pinch to zoom and read the certificate number and dates. It no longer kicks you out to the browser and makes you sign in again to come back.
- The certifications list loads the whole roster as you scroll, instead of stopping at the first page.
- Admins and managers get an Unclaimed tab for certificates Safety LMS sent that match nobody at your company — usually a subcontractor, or someone who trained under a different email.
- Certificates that never expire now say “No expiry” rather than showing a blank date.
- New crew certifications for a project, under the project’s Safety menu. See everyone assigned to the job and whether they are current — including anyone with nothing on file — before the crew leaves the yard.
- Admins and managers can unassign a certificate matched to the wrong person, from that person’s detail screen under Users. The correction sticks through future syncs.
- The Certifications menu item now carries an exclamation mark when something needs attention — amber for expiring soon, red as soon as anything has actually expired.
Version 1.0.4August 2026
- Mark up any photo on the phone. Open one, tap ⋯ then Edit, and draw freehand, add arrows, boxes, circles and text labels, crop, rotate, and adjust brightness, contrast and saturation on a full-screen canvas.
- Annotate a shot before it has even uploaded. Mark up a photo you have just taken at the tower and it is saved straight away — the original uploads first, the annotated version follows, and the edit shows in the viewer immediately whether or not you have signal.
- Editing never touches the original, and edits stay editable. Markup made on the phone opens on the web app and vice versa, so the office can adjust an annotation the crew added on site.
- Photo actions — Edit, Save to Photos, Accept, Reject and Delete — moved into a ⋯ menu with full-width rows, so Delete is no longer a fingertip away from Save to Photos.
- Admins and managers can reject a photo. Open it, tap Reject and write why — the crew sees the reason so they know what to re-shoot. Rejected photos are marked REJECTED with a red border, and Accept undoes a rejection made by mistake.
- A field holding a rejected photo turns red with an X instead of a green tick and stops counting toward the checklist percentage, so progress reflects work that is actually usable.
- Ropes are now shared across projects. Your company keeps one rope registry, so a rope you log once can be used on every job it travels to.
- Tapping “Add rope” opens a picker of the ropes you already own — tick the ones going out on this job, or create a brand-new one. Searching by serial number or manufacturer narrows the list.
- Each project keeps its own inspection log, so a shared rope shows only the inspections carried out on the project you are viewing.
- Removing a rope from a project keeps it in your library with its history intact. Admins and managers get a separate “Delete Forever” for retiring a rope company-wide.
- Press either volume button to take a photo. Easier to hit one-handed in gloves than the on-screen shutter, and it works in batch capture too. On iPhone this needs iOS 17.2 or later; the on-screen shutter is unchanged.
- The projects list now shows each project’s completion bar, matching the web app, and flags any project holding rejected photos.
- Rope and inspection-log actions moved into a ⋮ menu instead of a row of icons.
- Fixed: the on-screen keyboard no longer covers the buttons in dialogs that ask you to type something — renaming a cloned checklist or template, and confirming a project deletion.
Version 1.0.3August 2026
- Safety LMS / Comtrain integration: certifications your crew earns at Safety LMS sync into Mastlens nightly once your company is linked, matched to team members by email. See yours — and what is expiring — on the Certifications screen. Available on Professional and Ultra.
- Sign the JHA with your finger: tap the Sign-Off section to open a full signing pad, and your signature prints on the generated JHA PDF.
- Download the rescue plan as a PDF and share or save it from the plan screen.
- Rescue plans, PFAS checklists, and rope inspection logs now travel with the closeout package your office generates — as PDFs in a Safety Documents folder.
Version 1.0.2July 2026
- AI on Ultra: upload SOW (scope of work) documents to a project and generate ready-to-review checklists with AI.
- Project assistant chat: ask questions about the project — answers grounded in your SOW documents.
- View, upload, download, and delete SOW documents from the project screen.
- JHA Personnel: crew members sign themselves in with the “Add me” button — rows can no longer be typed in by hand, and only your own training checkboxes are editable. The printed form still has blank rows for paper sign-in.
- Date fields across JHA, PFAS, and rope forms now open a native calendar picker instead of requiring typed dates.
- Projects now have a Photos tab that loads more photos as you scroll; tap a photo to view it, then pinch, double-tap, or drag to zoom (reference images zoom too).
- Faster field photos: keep capturing several shots in a row without waiting — tap Done and the app processes them all at the end.
- Clone or remove checklists and templates from a new ⋯ menu on the project and Templates screens.
- Save a checklist’s changes and turn them into a reusable template in one step (“Save & Save as Template”).
- Search templates by name, and Checklist Templates now opens first.
- JHA reports: a ⋯ menu to Clone or Remove reports (admins and managers).
- Rescue plans: Site name and Location are prefilled from the project, plans show who created them, and editing is limited to admins and managers (assigned crew can still mark a plan reviewed).
- Editing and archiving a project is now limited to admins and managers.
- Pull down to refresh on the rope inspection list and rope detail screens.
- Fixes: the Notifications screen no longer tucks under the status bar, closing a photo returns you to the exact checklist you were viewing, and a background error when opening the Add rope form is resolved.
- The app version in Settings now links to this page.
Version 1.0.1July 13, 2026
- Per-project Safety area: rope inspection logs, rescue plans, and PFAS rosters.
